175-Year-Old Tree Attributes Long Life to 'Being Outside' and Drinking Plenty of Water
Experts have praised the lifestyle habits of a 175-year-old oak tree.
The tree, which has stood in the same field since 1851, said it had never followed a strict wellness routine but had always tried to “keep things simple.”
“I get plenty of fresh air,” it explained. “I drink when it rains, and I don’t move about too much.”
Longevity expert Professor Malcolm Pritchard said the advice was “excellent”, adding that many people overlook the importance of staying hydrated and spending time outdoors.
“There is a lot we can learn from this individual,” Pritchard said. “He has maintained a consistent routine for 175 years, which is extremely impressive.”
The professor also praised the tree’s low-stress lifestyle, regular exposure to sunlight and decision not to own a phone.
The tree said it hoped younger generations would stop overcomplicating health and simply focus on “standing still and absorbing what they can.”

I wish I could talk to a tree.
