The British Dental Association said teeth were still “one of the better options” for chewing and smiling.
“They’re not perfect,” said dentist Dr. Caroline Russell. “They stain, chip, ache, move around and can betray you without warning. But on balance, we remain pro-teeth.”
The review considered several alternatives, including dentures and going ‘full gum’.
Russell added that while teeth can be expensive and difficult to maintain, not having them tends to present “a different set of problems.”
