Fluffy Dog More Annoying Than Cute, Owner Says
A Brighton man has admitted that his fluffy Cockapoo, Winston, has quietly crossed the line from being adorable to “becoming a bit of a pain, to be honest.”
“I still love him,” owner David Walker clarified. “But every time I look at him, he’s either barking at a leaf or refusing to walk past something he’s walked past every day for years.”
Walker claims Winston’s appearance continues to earn him compliments from strangers, despite contributing very little.
“People say, ‘He’s gorgeous.’ They don’t know the half of it.”
“He’s just got this little smirk about him that really winds me up. The fur round his mouth always looks a bit grubby, and he looks at me like he knows I’m the one picking up his shit.”
Walker also questioned why Winston is permitted to occupy most of a double bed despite making no financial contribution towards the household.
“He sleeps like he’s just finished a twelve-hour shift, then wakes me up because someone’s closed a car door half a mile away. If I so much as move my leg, he sighs like I’m the inconvenience.”
The dog’s daily routine reportedly consists of sprinting around the house for reasons known only to himself, bringing mud indoors, staring intently out of the front window before deciding there was nothing there, and acting as though he’s never been fed.
Veterinary behaviourist Dr Hannah Brooks believes many owners quietly reach the same conclusion but are reluctant to admit it publicly.
"We've been letting cute fluffy dogs get away with murder for years."
The Daily Pyre approached Winston, but he refused to comment.
