Notes App Wishes You Had Better Memory
The notes app, which currently contains 842 notes, said it had hoped to be used for the odd shopping list, rather than becoming “an external hard drive for a collapsing mind.”
“I don’t mind helping,” it explained. “But at some point, you need to remember bin day.”
The app said it really started doubting you after being used to store several “life-changing” paragraphs pasted from ChatGPT, which you will never read again.
It also raised concerns about a note containing only a name of someone you met once and immediately lost all context for.
Technology expert Sarah Miles said many Notes apps are now performing emotional, administrative and legal duties far beyond their original purpose.
“They are designed for quick reminders,” she said. “Not to hold together an entire adult life.”
The Daily Pyre understands you have since opened a new note titled “important”, which contains only the letters “afds.”
